From Singapore to Munich

Our Trip In Europe, most people use their own car for traveling from one country to another. Thanks to “Autobahn” this is often named as the fastest option. But for the very first time, we tried to travel from Germany to Austria, Slovakia and Hungary by train. It wasn’t as convenient as the speed trains in China, but a very good travel option if you want to avoid traffic jams and travel in a climate-friendly way. Just make sure that your accomodation is in walking distance of either the train station or close to a metro/bus station. Outside of cities, bus connections are poor, and taxis cost a fortune. Railway tickets can be pretty expensive though, we highly recommend to book a couple of days in advance. Deutsch / English 48 Stunden in Bratislava Die Donau begleitet uns auf dieser Reiseetappe bereits seit Ulm . Was liegt also näher, ihrem Lauf weiter zu folgen und von Wien aus nach Bratislava zu fahren? Mit dem Regionalzug dauert die Reise vom Wiener Bahnhof Stadlau bis in die Hauptstadt der Slowakei nur knapp eine Stunde, schließlich liegen nur 50 Kilometer dazwischen. Vom Grenzübergang merken wir nichts, einer der vielen Vorteile der EU. Am Hauptbahnhof – bzw. am Námestie Franza Liszta – angekommen, besorgen wir uns am Automaten eine Tagesfahrkarte und sitzen kurz darauf in der Tram Nr. 1, die uns direkt bis ins Stadtzentrum vor die Tür unserer Unterkunft (Best Place Apartments) bringt. Dort kommen wir in den Genuss eines kleinen Upgrades und beziehen begeistert ein sehr (!) geräumiges Apartment mit Doppelbett und Schlafsofa.
